Kratek življenjepis
Asist. Matic Brvar, mag. mol. funkc. biol., je raziskovalec na Inštitutu za mikrobiologijo in imunologijo UL MF. Pod mentorstvom prof. dr. Alojza Ihana raziskuje na področju naprednih celičnih zdravljenj – imunoterapija CAR-T.
Po uspešno zaključeni Gimnaziji Šentvid se je leta 2014 vpisal na študij mikrobiologije na Biotehniški fakulteti v Ljubljani ter leta 2019 na magistrski študij molekulske in funkcionalne biologije Biotehniške fakultete v Ljubljani. Med magistrskim študijem je opravljal študentsko delo v Laboratoriju za diagnostiko covid-19 in septembra 2021 z zagovorom magistrske naloge z naslovom »Sekvenciranje slovenskih genomov virusa SARS-CoV-2 za ugotavljanje interakcij med proteini virusa in človeka« pridobil naziv magistra molekulske in funkcionalne biologije. Leta 2021 se je vpisal na doktorski študij biomedicine, področje medicinska mikrobiologija.
Od marca 2022 je zaposlen na Inštitutu za mikrobiologijo in imunologijo UL MF, v Laboratoriju za celično imunologijo. Od maja 2022 je habilitiran kot asistent za področje mikrobiologije in imunologije na Katedri za mikrobiologijo in imunologijo Medicinske fakultete Univerze v Ljubljani, kjer poučuje študente Medicinske fakultete in Biotehniške fakultete.
Assist. Matic Brvar, M.Sc. Mol. Funct. Biol. is a researcher at the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology, Medical Faculty, University of Ljubljana. Under the mentorship of Prof Alojz Ihan, MD, PhD, he conducts research in the field of advanced cellular therapies, specifically CAR T-cell immunotherapy.
After successfully graduating at Gimnazija Šentvid Grammar School, he enrolled in the Microbiology program at the Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana in 2014. In 2019, he pursued a Master’s degree in Molecular and Functional Biology at the same faculty. During his master’s studies, he worked as a student in the Laboratory for diagnostics of COVID-19. In September 2021, he obtained the title of Master of Molecular and Functional Biology by defending his master’s thesis titled “Sequencing of Slovenian SARS-CoV-2 Virus Genomes to Determine Interactions between Viral and Human Proteins”. In 2021, he enrolled in the Biomedicine doctoral program, specializing in Medical Microbiology.
Since March 2022, he has been employed at the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology UL MF, in the Laboratory for Cellular Immunology. Since May 2022, he works as Assistant Teacher in the field of Microbiology and Immunology at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, and he teaches students at the Faculty of Medicine and the Biotechnical Faculty.
