Likarjevem simpoziju o CAR T terapijah.

Lucija Sršen graduated on June 24, 2020, from the Biotechnical Faculty at the University of Ljubljana with a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, achieving a GPA of 9.3. She continued her studies at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School, where she completed her Master’s in Ecotechnologies on June 30, 2022, with a GPA of 9.89. Her Master’s thesis was awarded by the Jožef Stefan Institute.

Throughout her academic and professional journey, she gained extensive laboratory experience in biotechnology, microbiology, analytical chemistry, and bioprocess engineering. At Acies Bio d.o.o., she worked on media preparation, mutagenesis, and microbial strain testing. At the Biotechnical Faculty’s Laboratory for Industrial Bioprocesses, she focused on scale-up processes and bioprocess control, particularly with Streptomyces and E. coli strains. Her Bachelor’s thesis explored biotechnological methods for cultivating chanterelle mushrooms (Cantharellus cibarius). She also worked at Kobis d.o.o., where she was involved in analytical method development and laboratory analysis.

During her Master’s studies, she worked at the Department of Environmental Sciences at the Jožef Stefan Institute, contributing to research projects such as Danube Hazard m3c and GreenHull. She developed an HPLC-ICP-MS-based method for chromium species analysis in plants, which was the focus of her Master’s thesis.

In September 2022, she was appointed Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, and began her role as a Junior Researcher in the Department of Immunology. Her PhD research focuses on the impact of cellular metabolism on the efficiency and outcome of CAR T cell production. She is also involved in teaching and research within the Laboratory for Cellular Immunology.

Lucija has published several scientific papers. She gave a lecture at the 11th Likar Symposium on CAR T cell therapy. She actively participates in professional workshops and conferences (e.g., ESI Immunology School, flow cytometry workshops) and is a member of the Slovenian Immunological Society, the Slovenian Society for Flow Cytometry, and the Slovenian Society for Extracellular Vesicles.
