Kratek življenjepis

Asist. asist. razisk. dr.

Assist. Miša Marušić, PhD, completed her studies in structural and functional biology at the Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana in 2016. Following her master’s degree, she furthered her education by undertaking pedagogical and andragogic training at the Faculty of Education in Maribor, equipping herself with the essential knowledge and competencies required for pedagogical and andragogic work. In 2017, she joined the Laboratory for diagnosis of zoonoses and the laboratory WHO at the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, as a young researcher, gaining valuable experience in the fields of molecular microbiology, immunology, and highly pathogenic microorganisms. In 2022, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation titled “Immune response and functionality of toll-like receptors in vaccine breakthrough patients with tick-borne encephalitis.” She continued working in the Laboratory for cellular immunology at the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology, where she primarily focuses on the field of advanced cellular therapies, specifically CAR T-cell immunotherapy. In the course of her work, she acquired new knowledge on handling genetically modified organisms and the preparation of drugs for advanced treatment under the conditions of good manufacturing practice. In April 2022, she was habilitated as Assistant Teacher in the fields of microbiology and immunology, and since September 2023 she has been employed at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, where she is actively involved in teaching.
